My Netball
There are several excellent (and free) courses available which you can complete in your own time. Go to MyNetball and log in using your Netball Victoria membership details. Find Learning – Online Learning and browse available courses. For example:
- Community Officiating General Principles Course – This course is aimed at first time and beginner umpires and officials. The course contains three modules and focuses on a general introduction to umpiring.
- Foundation Umpire Course – This course will give you the necessary skills and knowledge to be an effective umpire. The course looks at being a good umpire, getting started, umpiring techniques and rules in action.
- Mentoring – This is an excellent course developed for people who work with coaches, umpires and officials at all levels. The course covers 7 modules; how does mentoring work, know yourself as a mentor, initial meeting, know your mentee, giving feedback, improving performance and dealing with challenging situations.
